Categorical Reading Lists

Animalia

There a lot of books that either feature an animal or the word "animal" in their title...so this is their category--a catch all of random "animal" books. Cats and Dogs, and Lion, Tigers & Bears--they have their own categories.

Coyote's Regret by Rich Curtin

Manny Rivera Mystery #8

I continue to really enjoy this series and this one is no exception. When an older couple are found shot to death in a remote section the Utah backcountry--it suggests a murder suicide but...Manny thinks otherwise as there are just too many unanswered questions. Good mystery...reading time well spent.

Once Around the Categories: Animalia

Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley

I must be a little off my game. This book got rave reviews and seemed like it would be an entertaining diversion but...once again a whole portion of this book is devoted to delusion and has fever dream like quality. Others seem to love this aspect. I mean I get it NO ONE likes to lose a beloved pet to a tumour--I've gone through two such experiences myself. I'm a cat person--maybe dog-person relationships are different---but I'm sticking with cats and a less delusional take on the loss of my beloved Frank and Zelda.

Slow Horses by Mick Herron

This is the second Slough House book that I have read, previously I read and really enjoyed Dead Lions. This one does not disappoint. I heard it is being made into TV series by one of the streaming services. I really want to watch that as well.
