Full disclosure, while I made it to the end of this book, I did my fair share of skimming and out right skipping, plus the author was a little too plucky and earnest for my old cynical brain.
I am finding it very difficult to find a book that shares my mindset. While I want to become thrifty and more self-sufficient--I DO NOT WANT TO--build a banjo, a dogsled, raise chickens (and other livestock), generate my own electricity--I would garden if I had anything like a green thumb. If you do, then this the book for you!
I do want to be thrifty, mindful of my foot sprint, learn how to mend, fix, and reuse rather than buy new and I would like to do this in the confines of my urban setting--and a book that actually teaches one how. I am interested in a zero waste type of lifestyle but unfortunately that has become super "insta" trendy and I find social media quite toxic. I was hoping for a one book fits all my needs but I think I might be better off going from skill set to skill set. With that in mind I took up weaving and bought a book about Japanese mending.
Wish me luck---and if you know a book???
