The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer

As usual I am reading more than posting so I have a big stack of books to enter into the blog and truth be told I don't remember much about this one. It was enjoyable and a quick read but just not really my cup of tea and most likely this will be a one off as far as this writer is concerned, too many books in the sea.

Part of my challenge: Once Around The Categories (Fair Game)

Deadly Games by Rich Curtin

Manny Rivera Mystery #5

One the most ambitious outings with Manny Rivera to date with a storyline that has roots both in Washington DC as well as Moab, Utah. While the writing remains clear and precise--this story is a little more complicated. I highly recommend this series -- it is reading time well spent.

Fair Game by Valerie Plame Wilson

In honor of 2024's international Woman's Month I decided to devote some reading time to some unsung females and their often heroic contributions to history--even if most of their accomplishments were often shoved "under the rug".

The subtitle to this book is "How a Top CIA Agent Was Betrayed by Her Own Government", a book in which the author "sets the record straight with her unvarnished account of the personal and international consequences of speaking the truth to power." She and her husband, Ambassador Joe Wilson, got caught up in the aftermath of 9/11 and "Weapons of Mass Destruction" witchhunt as it soon became apparent that Iraq didn't have any such weapons. The Bush administration, especially, Karl Rove, were looking scapegoats...and found them in Valerie and Joe.
